Celebrate Family Day!

September 24th is Family Day — and what better way to bring children and parents closer together than to enjoy a meal together.

Did you know that kids who frequently eat dinner with their families are less likely to try alcohol, cigarettes or drugs and are more likely to confide in their parents, have better grades? CASA, The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, has conducted nationwide studies for a decade, and sponsors Family Day: A day to eat dinner with your children, the fourth Monday in September.

With a little extra planning, family meals can be transformed into a time of sharing responsibilities and meaningful conversations. Here are some articles and recipes ideas to help you and your family enjoy Family Day.
