Martha White® Hot Rize® Biscuits

2 cups Martha White® Self-Rising Flour
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk or 7/8 cup buttermilk

Heat oven to 450° F. Lightly grease baking sheet. Place flour large in bowl. With pastry blender or two knives, cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk; stir with a fork just until soft dough forms and mixture begins to pull away from sides of bowl.

Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead gently about 10 times. Roll to about 1/2- inch thick. Cut with floured 2-inch cutter. Place on greased baking sheet with sides touching.

Bake at 450° F. for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 14 biscuits.
