Cake:
1-1/2 cups Martha White® Self-Rising Flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
Topping:
3 cups sliced fresh plums, peaches, apples or pears
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease 13x9-inch pan. In large bowl, combine flour and sugar; mix well. With pastry blender or fork, cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg and milk; stir just until blended. Spread batter evenly in greased pan.
2. Arrange sliced fruit in rows over batter. In small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon; mix well. Sprinkle evenly over fruit. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons melted butter.
3. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 28 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cool.
