1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
1 medium red or green bell pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 egg
1-1/4 cups milk
3 tablespoons Crisco® Vegetable Oil
1-1/2 cups Martha White® Self-Rising Corn Meal Mix
1. Heat oven to 450°F. In 10 1/2-inch cast iron or ovenproof skillet, combine sausage, bell pepper and onion; cook until sausage is browned and vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently. Remove sausage mixture from skillet; drain.
2. Beat egg in large bowl. Add all remaining ingredients; mix well. Stir in sausage mixture.
3. Wipe skillet clean with paper towel; spray skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Pour batter into sprayed skillet.
4. Bake at 450°F. for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into wedges to serve.
